My Story
I am blessed to be able to call Calgary, Alberta, Canada my home. I am a native Albertan, born and raised on a sugar beet farm in Southern Alberta. How my family ended up there is a whole other sad story, but some sad stories have happy endings and in the case of our family, I feel this is true.

Although we were poor, we spent endless hours searching the coulees of Southern Alberta, looking for treasures like shiny rocks, quartz and petrified wood. When I grew up and had my own children, my passion for rocks continued and I passed that onto my daughter who became a rock collector and would tumble her own treasures into lovely shiny gems. Fast forward to becoming a Nana, and again the tradition continued with my grand daughters, Kiley and Emma, with whom I have spent many lovely moments looking for special rocks and how excited we all would become when we found a heart shaped rock! During this whole lifespan, travel became a passion for me. My husband, Steve, would wonder why I would spend hours in exotic countries searching for special rocks, and sometimes he would object when he had to carry them back to our hotels and pack them in our suitcases. Now he knows...

"If Stones Could Talk" is a phrase I stumbled upon about a year ago. It encompasses the absolute wonder of "rocks or stones", and how they have existed on this earth through centuries and how each one would have such a story to tell of the lives that have walked upon them, if only "they could talk". I decided then, that I could help these rocks tell a story, which is how "Wee Rock Art" came to be.
